Cooking Time : 20-25 Minutes

If you're a pizza lover, a classic Margherita pizza is probably high on your list of favourites. The colours of the red tomato sauce, white mozzarella cheese, and green basil typically represent colours of the Italian flag. Created in the 19th century by a piemaker from Naples, this pizza was named Queen Margherita because of how much she enjoyed it. Use Sorrentina’s All Purpose Italian Tomato Sauce and a sprinkle of Sorrentina’s Pizza Pasta Seasoning to put together an incredibly satisfying Italian pizza that will impress even a queen!
To make your Margherita Pizza, activate yeast by mixing it with sugar and lukewarm water. Set aside for 2 minutes and once the yeast turns frothy, it’s ready to be used
Start making the pizza dough by mixing flour, salt and the activated yeast with water and kneading it to form a soft dough. Once the dough starts coming together, add some oil and knead again. Cover it with a wet muslin cloth and set aside in a warm place for 10-15 minutes to prove
In the meantime, preheat an oven to 180°C
Divide the prepared dough into 2 equal portions. Shape it into a ball, dust polenta and some refined flour on a worktop and roll the dough into a disc. (either with a rolling pin. It’s best to use your hands)
Grease a baking tray with some oil and transfer the prepared pizza base on it. Dock the pizza dough with a fork and bake in a preheated oven for 5 minutes.
Brush the base with olive oil and spread an even layer ofAll Purpose Italian Tomato Sauce on the base
Top it with mozzarella cheese followed by some basil leaves.
